The requirements for a quality management system for the design, development, production, and service of products connected to the automobile industry are outlined in the ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 Automotive Production Quality Management Systems Package. The International Automotive Task Force (IATF), a consortium of the world’s top manufacturers and trade associations, established the ISO/TS 16949:2009 standard (formerly known as ISO/TS 16949:2009), a global standard. It outlines the requirements for the quality management system (QMS) for the design, development, production, and, where necessary, the installation and service of products related to the automobile industry. The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), with assistance from ISO/TC 176 Quality Management and Quality Assurance, first issued this standard in 2000. It was amended in 2002 by adopting ISO/TS 16949:2002. The following The current iteration of this standard supersedes and replaces the initial revision, which was released in 2002 and was technically updated in accordance with IS/ISO 9001:2015. The original wording of ISO 9001:2015 is contained in the boxed text. The additional requirements that are sector-specific go beyond the norm. Sites of the organisation where items specified by the customer are produced and/or serviced must comply with ISO/TS 16949:2009. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has issued this Indian Standard (Second Revision), which is identical to ISO/TS 16949:2009, “Quality Management Systems Particular Requirements for the Application of ISO 9001:2015 for Automotive Production and Relevant Service Part Organizations” (ISO).
